Net surface area
of mineral rights
As of December 31st, 2016, we owned mineral rights in this country to two blocks: one production/development block with a net surface area of 21 km2 and one exploration block with a net surface area of 5,647 km2.
- In April 2016, after obtaining the necessary official permits, the agreement reached in September 2015 with the company West Side came into effect. This agreement was for the sale of Repsol’s stake in the Laminaria and Corallina fields.
- After ceasing production in the Kitan block in December 2015, the first abandonment phase began, withdrawing from the FPSO field which was used for production in March 2016. Block operator ENI estimates that the second and final abandonment phase will occur in 2018.
